Steadily Increasing Revenues
In its capacity as the Belgian Intellectual Property Office, IPObel’s revenues are obtained from the processing and maintenance fees relating to patent applications, supplementary protection certificates and plant variety rights.

In 2023, the first appeal was lodged with UPC's local division in Brussels.
IPObel and Copyright
In 2023, a Miscellaneous Economic Provisions Bill containing a number of important amendments relating to copyright has been prepared. The text will be submitted to Parliament for a vote in 2024.
IPObel and International Affaires
In 2023, IPObel signed a new cooperation agreement with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). That collaboration stands for considerable aid and support for SMEs.

Those are questions you may not have the answers to. Since 15 May 2023, the IP prediagnosis service, offered and subsidised by the Intellectual Property Office (IPObel), can answer all your questions about IPR.
Intellectual Property Consultation Days
Are you a starter, manager or an SME, designer, researcher or inventor? Consultations tailored to your needs are offered in the form of one-to-one meetings with one or more experts in various areas of intellectual property.
Contact Point
In 2023, IPObel’s Contact Point dealt with 1,777 questions from businesses and citizens in addition to the 388 questions directly answered by the FPS Economy’s Contact Center.
